To coincide with Master Painting’s Week, Sotheby’s Institute of Art will host an evening lecture to examine the history and current state of the market for Old Master paintings. Despite the highs and lows of the financial markets, prices for Old Masters have remained relatively stable over the centuries. During the presentation, Dr. Iain Robertson highlights the elements that have contributed to its buoyancy and examines the key issues and opportunities facing the Old Master painting market today.
